Lost / Found

If you were to lose an object by mistake, something close, something precious... Something that, at the time, means the world to you......

Some time later, you happened to find that certain object. Your hope prevails.

I understand that not all things are replaceable, yet every object in this world, no matter how intimate, is just material possession afterall. You can't take it with you when you die. Having said that - What's more important? Having the object itself in your possession? Or that particular moment of genuine joy and happiness when the object resurfaced?

The moment when it resurfaces. At the most unexpected time. That's a delight.

I agree with Sushil- I would guess that most people feel that way, unless we're talking about Ashlee Simpson's dignity that may reappear someday (after her drunken ordeal at that McDonalds in Canada)

The particular moment... You are right. They are only material things!

I would say the moment when it resurfaces. You never know how much you miss something until it is gone. I think the overwhelming joy of getting it back again was far more stronger than the joy of having it. So if that is the case, should we lose what we love the most more often that way we can enjoy how much we adored it when we find it again? Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Absense does make the heart grow fonder, I agree with you completely Todd. But here is just regarding material things... That being said, can certain love be replaced? :-)

Given 2 people that are in love, their love grows stronger everyday. Nothing needs to be lost in order to find out how much they appreciate one another. If your love is genuine, it'll always be there.
